Government Waste Of Stimulus Money

Headstone

It was reported today on the Fox News Network that over 4,000 convicted felons received stimulus checks for $250.00 each in the state of Massachusetts. While this is still an ongoing investigation, many are left to wonder what other mistakes the Government has made throughout the whole stimulus process. It has even been reported that checks went out to people who were deceased. In a time when there is little faith in the government and where disruptive town hall meetings have become the norm, Americans are starting to wonder why they are wasting their time working and paying taxes, when it is being used to fund criminals in jail.

Another bit of shocking news that came out today is that the Federal Government secretly gave out bonuses to top staffers on Capital Hill. One Congressman sited on Your World Cavuto, said that these bonuses would go towards paying off student loans and this was an insignificant amount of money that the taxpayers shouldn’t even be concerned with. Leslie Paige, with Citizens Against Government Waste should be commended on her support of the American people and coming forward to do the interview. In the face of the Federal Government telling big banks and Wall Street that they needed to stop this practice, Americans and the private sector were a little taken back by the news. It leaves one to question just how much of our stimulus money is being wasted.

The health care debate isn’t going much better. Congress released a letter to all health care providers that they would like made available to them information on salaries paid, retreat costs to include travel and other information. The World of Cavuto’s response was to have providers write a letter back to Congress, asking them for all of their information on which one of their planes took them on their retreats and how much did it cost the taxpayer. The economy may be getting better, but it’s hard to see with so many people still out of work, losing their homes and health insurance. For more information on government waste click here.
