How To Decorate For Fall On A Budget

I look for projects that don’t take a lot of time or that cost little to nothing to make. Look to nature this fall to decorate your home inside and out. Pinecones and dried leaves always make a nice arrangement in a bowl and it looks great on a mantle or coffee table. Add some gourds for a more festive look, which are usually really cheap this time of year. If you want to have a centerpiece that you can reuse year after year, consider buying artificial gourds and pinecones that you can store easily. Apothecary jars are a fun centerpiece and you can fill them with artificial fruit, seeds, or berries. If you use real fruit, keep in mind that it will go bad in a short period of time with the lid on.

A simple centerpiece is a square white plate with a couple of sunflowers on it. This works with small pumpkins, gourds or fruit and you can spruce it up with some dried leaves and nuts. Take a rustic tray and add small pumpkins or pinecones. Add some mismatched stemware and top with candles for an elegant touch that your friends and family will love. It is very unique looking and it didn’t cost you a thing. Vases filled with coffee beans, shells or nuts makes a dramatic presentation, just add some flowers and place throughout the house for added fall color.

Get all of your decorating supplies together before you start and take stock of what you have. Always look for items you have around the house before you go out and buy new. Take a walk in the woods or a nearby park to see what you can find in nature and keep an open mind. You may find something that strikes your eye, you just may not be sure what you are going to do with it yet. Use your imagination and make your own fall creations.
