Everyone agrees that we should all exercise much more than we do. However, not all of us know which exercises are the most beneficial and effective. Of course, what you are trying to accomplish will greatly determine a lot of the exercises you implement into your exercise regimen or workout.
There are several exercises that will fit into any exercise program and provide you with an effective workout. Walking should be included in any exercise program and is something that you can do anywhere and you don't need any special equipment other than a good pair of shoes. Walking at a brisk pace strengthens your heart and burns up to 500 calories an hour.
Adding interval training (varying your pace throughout your workout) to an exercise program will boost your workout whether you are a beginner or an exercise veteran. Simply push the pace for just a minute or two and then back off for a few minutes; continuing in this manner for the entire workout will make it that much more effective.
All the experts say that strength training is necessary for any effective workout or exercise program and strength training that targets multiple muscles are the best. Squats target quadriceps, hamstrings and your gluts, which make it a very good exercise to add to your workout. Just think of sitting in a chair (only the chair isn't there) and work on getting in and out of the chair while always keeping your back straight
For a quick cardio exercise plan, work at a slightly harder pace; keeping a steady pace will train your heart to work efficiently. If you feel the workout is too hard, ease up and try harder the next time you workout. On the flip side, if you feel it is too easy, just step it up a little.
